Our lawful bases for the collection and use of your data

Our lawful basis for collecting or using personal information to provide patient care, services, pharmaceutical products and other goods, for safeguarding or public protection reasons, to comply with legal requirements, for information updates, marketing or market research purposes, and for dealing with queries, complaints or claims is:

  • Consent - we have permission from you after we gave you all the relevant information. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. To be clear, you do have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

Where we get personal information from

  • Directly from you

How long we keep information

We keep your personal information for as long as you remain a member of VS Life, so we can provide your sessions, services and support.

If your membership ends - whether you cancel it or it’s revoked - we keep your information for a further 6 years from the date your membership ends. We retain it for this period to deal with any legal, insurance, accounting or tax matters that may arise (for example, HMRC requires financial records to be kept for at least 6 years) and to respond to any complaints or disputes. After that, it is securely deleted or anonymised.

Some information may be kept for a different period where the law requires it.

If you have any concerns about our use of your personal information, you can make a data protection complaint to us:
